Safal Steel signs sponsorship deal with DRSU

Image taken at a luncheon in Hillcrest - Andre Beetge(Left) president of the DRSU with Ronnie Graham COO of Safal Steel.

In 2011 Safal Steel had the privilege in assisting the DRSU(Durban Rugby Sub Union) with sponsorship of rugby kit for the various age groups as they represented KZN at the Inter Provincial Rugby Tournament in Bloemfontein at the end of the year.

Safal since realised that we had the opportunity to assist club rugby from grassroots up. The necessity of corporate funding for these divisions offers talent to further professional leagues such as our provincial rugby and possibly to represent our SA team.

DRSU and Safal engaged at the beginning of 2012 to negotiate a sponsorship for the division.

We are pleased to announce that Safal Steel will be the principle sponsor to the DRSU for 2012.

Various clubs in KZN will play towards the Safal Steel cup 2012, this will be in conjunction with their inter club tournaments which will be hosted all over KZN on a weekly basis in club rugby season.

Part of the perks to the deal, Safal Steel has the opportunity for brand awareness at the Mr Price Stadium through signage on the big screen and at selected games, some of the junior teams will play rugby during the half time in branded apparel.
You will start seeing the brand exposure from the 21st of April when the official hand over will occur during half time of the Sharks vs. the Chiefs.

We trust that this relationship will be mutually beneficial and rewarding.

Good luck to all the teams who fall under the DRSU flag.

SANS 10 400... It's official!

"Over 12 million people in South Africa are without decent homes" as published in the Jan/Feb 2012 issue of Walls & Roofs in a feature on affordable housing.
"87% of the homes built between 1994 and 2010 are considered to be high risk structures due to various defects after the houses were built."
Safal Steel has worked very hard in 2011 to gain approval with the NHBRC in order to assist our customers in being able to compete in this sector.

The much talked about SANS 10 400 has recently been gazetted, which now reflects our AZ technology specification. This is a very positive step in the right direction as now this sector can be offered a better alternative compared with galvanised steel and traditional clay tiles.
The new SANS 10 400 XA talks about roof construction needing to meet a certain thermal performance requirement.

AZ coated products - ZincAL and COLORPLUS out perform galvanised steel in both corrosion resistance and thermal attributes.
The inclusion of aluminium offers barrier protection to the steel core, whilst the zinc offers sacrifical protection, offering 4 times the lifespan as compared to galvanised steel.
The mettalic finish of the AZ coating offers maximum heat refectivity which keeps the interior of a home measurably cooler during the summer months and significantly warmer during the winter months. This performance gives our brands ZincAL and COLORPLUS an advantage over traditional galvanised sheeting, tile roofs as well as cement roofing.
